Let's modernize our nation's measuring system to metric, since it's scientifically based!

Why is changing to a scientifically based measuring system important?
As the metric system is the international standard for science and trade, everything must be converted from liters to gallons, meters to feet etc.

So What? We can do the conversions. 
True, but that single extra step is enough for serious mistakes to occur. Here are a few:

Examples like the ones above are costing tax payers millions in malpractice suits and insurance claims. Please sign this petition if you think it's a problem worth looking into.

Summer and I attended the Monterey, CA Coalition of Scholarship Organizations (COSO) high school scholarship forum.  It was really inspirational to see so many kids interested in college and ready to solve the world's problems.  I passed out about 100 NNOA scholarships applications ... I'm curious to see the quality of the responses.

About to head out to a Halloween party .. should be fun.  Summer's dressing up as a witch, and myself a Top Gun Tom Cruise look-alike :).

This is going to be short and sweet.  Welcome to my site and thanks for visiting.  I'll try to update my blog from time to time, but no promises there.  Currently studying for the PhD comprehensive exams and reading papers relating to my dissertation topic.
